Bow Ties

On December 31, 2010 when I went out for New Year's Eve, I wore my first bow tie in many, many years.  When I say many, many years I actually mean probably for the first time since I was a kid wearing a clip on bow tie.  Late in 2010 I decided I'd like to try the bow tie style again so I started shopping for bows.  With the help of a friend, I found Beau Ties Ltd. of Middlebury, Vermont, and they had a great selection of styles that seemed perfect for me.

But first I decided to buy a less expensive model from another company just so that I could prove to myself that I could learn to tie a bow tie.  I decided that there'd be none of these clip on models for me anymore.  Well, after a little practice, the test of being able to learn to tie a bow tie proved successful, so I decided to purchase some more ties from Beau Ties Ltd.  Here are a few pictures of me wearing some of my ties.  In some of these views they're tied better than others because I was just learning.

Bow ties aren't supposed to be tied perfectly. I think
you can see some imperfection here. This one is
called Ocala.

This is the first bow tie that I bought, one of the more
inexpensive models, just to prove that I could learn to
tie a bow.  This is after I practiced a little bit.

This one is called Polka Rojo. Red with white polka dots!

This one is called Citrus Heights.  Brightly colored and
tied quite nicely.

This bow is yellow with tiny stars, but it's not tied
very well.  It's called Star Prairie, with diamond points
instead of a standard straight end.  I can tie it better
 than this now.

This tie is called Winter Garden. It has little snow
flakes on it.

This one is called Ocala.  One of my favorites!
